My name is Ethan Brewer and I love Gaelic Football! I’ve been fortunate enough to play the game since I was 10 years old for Glen Rovers in Watford as well as the Hertfordshire County team since I was 12. Due to the growing development of Hertfordshire, I have been able to learn masses from the fantastic coaches across the county both as a player and as a young coach.
I have been able to implement these skills learned through my coaching journey, notably whilst with the “Minis” at Glen Rovers. Being able to work in a small close-knit team to develop these young children as Gaelic Footballers was a fantastic honour for me as a coach and as a person. We were able to work together with the children and parents to create a fun, family-orientated friendly environment to facilitate the progress and (most importantly) enjoyment for the kids.
Alongside my work with the GAA and Glen Rovers, I am also a university student at Nottingham Trent studying Sport & Exercise Science, in which I am currently on my placement year at Watford Football Club. Here I’ve been able to hone my coaching technique with the U18 College programme, translating the transferrable skills across the two sports. As such, I have gained a lot of lessons and experience from university and professional work life that help me to try to be the best coach I can be on both sides of the white line.
Off the pitch, I am now going to be the Nottingham Trent University GAA President, a role in which I take a lot of pride.
I am extremely excited to develop opportunities in Gaelic Football for both boys and girls, creating communities and fun for all who want to play or support.
I cannot wait to get started here with Hertfordshire GAA, coaching Gaelic to children of all abilities and providing fun, exciting and memorable experiences for them within their teams.
