We are excited to announce we will be hosting the GAA's National Hurling Development Manager - Martin Fogarty & Kevin Kelly - Ulster GAA's Hurling Development Manager for a workshop on how to best structure hurling coaching sessions for children.
The workshop title is - "Demystifying the stigma of hurling coaching. A crash course in coaching hurling with children"
The focus is on the practical elements of coaching children that involve what Fogarty regards as - the seven essential skills of hurling.
Sometimes coaches and parents with more of a football than hurling background are intimidated by the thought of coaching hurling, but Fogarty has made it his mission to show its more easily done than some might think.
“It's important we alleviate those sorts of fears and show that if you get a crash-course in hurling and get the youngsters togged out and make little games they'll play away and develop themselves," Fogarty told GAA.ie.
