The awesome participants from the first session
St Vincent's re-launched their youth teams on Wednesday the 16th of January and it was a huge success.
After several years without adult or youth teams, the club realised that without investing in their youth programme, the clubs long term future was at risk. The turnout at their first youth session is testament to the club, who completed months of planning, preparation and of all the relevant training required.
The clubs Public Relations Officer Stephen McKiernan had this to say on the launch - "What a fantastic start to our underage programme - I don't we could have ever imagined having over 40 children on our first night when we started planning for this a few months back. Its very early days, but the future looks bright for St Vincent's Gaelic Football club."
Stephen also thanked the club committee, club coaches, parents, players and the Hertfordshire county board for their support.
Patrice Doran, a parent of one of the players added - "Absolutely brilliant session! Every child enjoyed it and they're all looking forward to coming back and the word from all the parents was how well organised it was and well ran by you all, well done."
Anne Munnelly, another parent of on the of the players also added - "Brilliant turn out and well done to all invloved. My two had a great evening and are panned out since they got home. Here's to next weeks session."
Training sessions continue over the coming weeks for all ages up to U12's, as their teams prepare for an action packed Summer of games within our counties minor board fixtures and will make their first appearance at the prestigious All Britain Competition (ABC's) in Greenford.
Come along and join in the fun, no previous playing experience necessary. All training details can be found on the attached flyer below.
