Big Plans For 2018 Already In Place
Following on from their inaugural season at senior level, Watford based Glen Rovers Ladies are now looking to add a youth team to their setup for 2018. January sees the introduction of their ‘Gaelic 4 Girls’ programme, an initiative to introduce those aged 11-18 to the club and the sport of Gaelic Football. The programme commences in January 2018. More information is as follows:
Glen Rovers ladies team was setup in February 2017, and we have had a massively successful year with over 50 girls coming to play Gaelic Football. As part of our club development we are looking to an under 14 and Under 17 girls gaelic football team. There is a large Irish community in Watford and we see this as an opening to bring the irish community together and to introduce gaelic football to other cultures which is very important. We are very excited as we are now in the development stage of getting younger girls to play the Irish sport. This adds a lot of value to the community of Watford and surrounding areas and will give youths a chance to join an exciting new team, getting to meet new friends whilst learning a fun new sport.
No experience necessary, you will learn from the beginning with the help of our qualified coaches.
From the skills and training you will learn at the Gaelic 4 Girls, we will be able to setup and underage team with Glen Rovers Ladies in time for the 2018 season where we will play games in the county and throughout Britain. So come down for a bit of fun and it’s only one hour out of your day.
We are very excited about this as Gaelic Football is one of the fastest growing female sports In Europe.
