Hertfordshire GAA County Féile Coordinator 2009-2018
Each year our U14 county team travel to Ireland to compete at the prestigious All Ireland Féile competition which is almost upon us (28th of June-1st of July). Teams travel from Ireland, Britain, Europe and America to compete. Lots of organisation and planning goes into these types of trips to ensure our players are prepared and have a memorable weekend.
This year marks the 10th year Rebecca Carroll-Griffin (Hertfordshire Minor Board Treasurer/St Colmcilles, St Albans club member) has coordinated the trip.
County chairman - Diarmuid Walsh stated, "As chairman of Hertfordshire we are delighted and privileged to have the skill set and ability of Rebecca as our lead coordinator for Féile.
The fact this is Rebecca's 10th year in this capacity is certainly no mean achievement and i'm sure must uphold some historic achievement.
To carry out this function at club level is a challenge but fulfilling the role as a county lead co-coordinator, in a County such as Hertfordshire, with its geographical dimensions, adds an additional requirement to the mindset.
That been said Rebecca has very successfully dealt with all these challenges over the years to ensure our county of Hertfordshire is always, compliant, courteous and smartly presented.
On behalf of the Board and all our clubs, Thank you Rebecca for the wonderful work you do. We look forward to another 10 successful years."
Community Development Administrator - Stephen Lavery also stated, "We are extremely lucky to have so many hard working, dedicated and knowledgeable volunteers in our county, including Rebecca.
The organisation of each Féile trip is second to none. 10 years as Féile coordinator is a huge achievement and the duty of care shown to each individual child is amazing.
All parents have a confidence in our trip knowing that Rebecca is at the helm, creating a platform for players to develop and a lasting legacy of memories for each child."
Well done Rebecca!
