Some of the attendees at a recent Gaelic Football session
The excellent Herts GAA Dads & Lads initiative (Social Football & Hurling) has been gathering momentum this last few weeks. The guys are always on the lookout for new players to come and give it a try, or for those past playing members to dust off the old boots/shooters. The Dads & Lads initiative is a great way to get/stay active, or have a go at playing Gaelic Games.
The format is - one week Gaelic Football, next week Hurling. Playing games for the full hour.
The venue is the excellent floodlit 4g facility at Nicholas Breakspear School in St Albans, 7:30-8:30pm every Friday.
No previous playing experience is necessary, just come along and give it a go.
A quote from one of the organisers stated - "I think the main thing is it's great fun. The lads have been terrific and there's no over the top tackles or people thinking they're in an All Ireland Final. So many people new to Gaelic Games too!"
