Representatives From All Corners Of The County
The 2019 Hertfordshire GAA convention took place last Sunday and was hosted by St Joseph’s Waltham Cross. Over 20 club representatives and board officers attended the annual event which was highly productive and held in good spirits.
The year that passed was reflected on fondly by many, highlighting the successes we had seen; namely our U14 Boys Division 8 victory at Feile, the county having a further increased turn out at this summer’s ABC’s in Greenford and the progress made by our senior county team under new manager Kevin Devlin.
Of specific note was the award of Herts GAA personality of the year to our CDA Stephen Lavery for his trojan-like work in the development of our youth setup throughout the year. Warm messages were also passed on by those in attendance to our outgoing chairman Diarmuid Walsh, who demonstrated fantastic attention to detail and a commendable approach throughout his tenure. Telling of officers resulted in Noel Griffin of St Joseph’s being voted in as Diarmuid’s replacement; and Noel is already looking forward to 2019 and a fresh set of challenges.
