All Britain Championship Final 2019
Our County U15's travel to McGovern Park in Ruislip this Saturday (21st) to take on North London in the All Britain Championship Final with a 3:30pm throw in.
Our panel of 24 players are represented from 5 clubs across our county, with a blend of last years Division 8 All Ireland Féile cup winning team and this years Division 7 All Ireland Féile Shield winning team.
The final will be a huge test for our squad, with North London undoubtedly going into the game as favourites. The road to the final included an impressive Quarter Final away win in Birmingham against Warwickshire. The hosts led the game going into the last 12 minutes. However, our boys finished strong with a flurry of late goals to snatch the victory on a scoreline of 3-10 to 7-06. After being awarded a walkover in the Semi-Final, the squad have completed a series of training sessions in preparation for the final.
Our County Chairman Noel Griffin from St Josephs, Waltham Cross, passed on this message to the players - "It's great to see our U15's in a final against North London. Our lads have done well at U14 level the last two years with their impressive consecutive wins at the All Ireland Féile, so keeping them together has been key. Ciaran Earls and Paul Coleman have been doing fantastic work with the lads. As the players continue on their playing pathway, it is vital that we provide these types of opportunities to guide them through to playing Senior Football. I wish them great success on Saturday and I know they will do us proud."

Ciaran Earls from St Colmcilles shared this message - "We have had a great year to date. We overcame a strong Warwickshire team in Birmingham and had to dig deep in the last 10 minutes. The squad are quietly confident as there has been a lot of work put in on the training ground and the commitment and work ethic has been brilliant. We have an opportunity to win a first All Britain Championship for a county minor team from Hertfordshire. This is the culmination of years of great work and coaching in all the clubs and the commitment of the county board. The good news is, that the conveyor belt is only getting longer and stronger. I would encourage as much support as possible for the team."
No doubt there will be a huge travelling support for the boys on Saturday and we wish them the very best of luck.
