Cardinal Newman celebrate in style
Our second annual Year 9/10 Boys County Schools tournament was held today at John F Kennedy school in Hemel Hempstead. Wet and blustery conditions tested the skills and temperament of our participants, with all teams showing an excellent attitude, whilst representing their schools with pride.
Teams who took part on the day were:
The shield winners were Douay Martyrs in a tale of two halves against Beaumont in a physical and fast flowing contest. Beaumont raced into an early 0-3 to 0-1 lead in the first half and looked in control of the game. However, a strong and impressive second half comeback with two goals in quick succession dealt a hammer blow to the Beaumont lads silverware aspirations.
The Cup final was a local derby between JFK and Cardinal Newman and it did not disappoint. This was a titanic battle, with both teams going toe to toe in the early exchanges. Goals win games as they say and it was the Cardinal Newman lads who triumphed over their rivals with a clinical display which seen them victorious on a scoreline of 2-2 V 0-1.

We would like to thank our excellent hosts John F Kennedy, who have now hosted our Secondary Schools events for the last four years. Thanks also to our schools and teachers for their commitment and continued support. Final thanks to our awesome volunteers who gave up their time to make today's event a success - Without them today would not be possible!
Well done to all participants, we will see all our Secondary Schools again at the All Britain Championships (ABC's) in Greenford on the 12th of July.
